  • Add the standard card size after adding bleed area size. “Add a 0.25 inch of extra space around the document as margin along the edges to be a bleed. The standard size after adding the bleed to business card size is the 3.75-inch tall x2.25 inch wide.

  • The background contents are Transparent.
  • Hit OK.

Step 2, important tips and notes:

And to guarantee that the text/logo on the card isn’t extended too close from the edges.
All about the bleed area and also the trim area where we will cut the card.

  • Press Edit > Preferences > Units & Rulers then change your units from pixel to standard inches unit.
  • Press View menu and Select New Guide to set the Margins in your blank document.

  • Give the new guide a horizontal position and repeat again with vertical one. Repeat the step again twice for the same two positions.

  • Select View> New Directory to determine the actual dimensions so the card will end with the right measurements.
  • After selecting a new directory, we will use 4 visual guides to add 0.15 inch to the border of all sides.
  • From “View” menu select “Rulers.” Drag the blue lines to the suitable final dimensions after clicking on the ruler on each edge.
  • So you will have two horizontal guide lines and two ones vertical referring to the end of the business card.

       Side 1 = Horizontal 0.15 inch.

           Side 2 = Vertical 0.15 inch.

         Side 3 = Horizontal 3.65 inches.

We have no added some guide lines. We have four ‘Trim Lines‘ and four ‘Critical Margins’ lines now.
